Supporting Documents (PDFs)

It’s recommended to supply supporting documentation to customers to download directly from the PIP in the form of PDFs.

Documents to Include:

  • User Guides and Manuals
  • Full Warranty
  • Installation instructions
  • Brochures and Marketing Materials

All PDFs must be bilingual (both English and French in one document)

PDF filename convention

When naming your PDFs, consider the optimal customer experience. Customers will be referring to the file name on the PIP (when selecting from multiple included documents) and in their digital filing systems post-purchase. Sufficient detail in the file name will help customers quickly find the document they need.

Please include at least two of the following elements in each PDF filename:

  • Brand name (recommended for all files)
  • Product model number (recommended for model-specific files)
  • Product type (recommended for product-specific files)
  • Document type (recommended for all files)

Here are some examples:

  • A user manual for a specific product: "ACME RT33591 Bandsaw User Manual.pdf"
  • A warranty that applies to all of your products: "ACME Warranty.pdf"
  • Installation guide for a certain type of product: "ACME Range Hood Installation Guide.pdf"
  • A brand brochure "ACME Full Home Solutions.pdf"
